Should children start school as young as two? – the Twitter debate

The age at which children start school has always been a controversial topic. Only a few months ago a group of education specialists wrote to Michael Gove, arguing that children should begin school aged six or seven, after several years of high-quality nursery education.
But this week, the chair of Ofsted, Lady Sally Morgan, suggested that schools should take pupils as young as two. Morgan argues that an earlier school start would prevent "weak parenting, low educational attainment of parents, poor diet, poor housing" from putting disadvantaged children on a back foot.
