It's nearly Pancake Day

16 February 2010 is a very special day. It has many names: Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday and Mardi Grass to name but a few for many children in the UK is Pancake Day, the day to eat those scummy pancakes with as many different kinds of delicious fillings as you can find.

Chinese New Year




The Chinese New Year 4708,begins on 14th Fefruary 2010.This year is Tiger's year. Each year is represented by one of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac:Rat,Ox,Tiger,Rabbit, the Dragon,Snake,Horse,Ram,Monkey,Rooster,Dog and Pig.


Chinese New Year celebrations last for two weeks and end with Ten Chief,the lantern festival on the full moon about 15 days later.

What's in a healthy lunchbox?

A healthy packed lunch should include:
  • Water or milk.
  • Fruit.
  • Dairy.
  • Vegetables.
  • Protein:cheese sandwich.
  • Starchy carbohydrate.

What is a leap year?

A leap year is a year in wich one extra day has been inserted at the end of February. A leap year consists of 366 days, whereas other years , called common years have 365 days.
The next lap year will fall in 2012.
