The official opening of the Channel Tunnel by Queen Elizabeth II and French President Francoise Mitterand took place on 6 May 1994.
The Channel Tunnel is the longest undersea tunnel in the world. It's 50.5 Km long. It links Folkestone in England with Calais in France.
